President: Rev. Vanro Sanga
There are six (6) Alliance Local churches in the Sagaing Division, Upper Myanmar with 810 baptized members and 335 children, and seven (7) churches including planting churches in Lower Myanmar with 160 baptized members and 86 children. The total number of members in Myanmar C&MA is 970 baptized members and 421 not yet baptized (children).
There are eight (8) pastors and six (6) missionaries (church planters) and one (1) national evangelist in Myanmar C&MA.
We have a centralized governing structure and financial pooling system. The General Council drafts an annual financial budget taking into account the needs of the local churches, Alliance Women, and Alliance Youth Fellowship. The money is collected from the local churches and sent to the General Council treasurer. The mission budget is sent to the local churches’ mission treasurer. The current salary of our pastors is between $ 80-100 and for our missionaries between $70-80.
Our Ministry and Activities
The C&MA of Myanmar is working among three main tribes: the Burmese, Karen and Mizo/Chin. The ministry among the Mizo tribe continues to grow, and to our delight, they now represent more than half of all of the Alliance church members in Myanmar. The Mizo-speaking people formed the first Alliance church in Myanmar and have been a part of the evangelistic work in Myanmar by supporting our missionaries who are working among the Burmese and Karen peoples. We love serving among different tribes and showering them with the love of Jesus.
We publish adult and children’s Sunday School lessons, a quarterly magazine titled “Kristian Nun” and a bi-monthly newsletter titled “Alliance Kantu.” In addition, we hold an annual General Council meeting every year on the first week of March.
The youth leadership team in Myanmar works under the Alliance Youth Fellowship and is made up of people from many of the different regions of Myanmar. They hold an annual conference every year in April.
The national women’s leadership team, called Alliance Women, is also made up of people from all over Myanmar. They are also very active in ministry through their prayers and financial support of missionaries. They hold an annual women’s rally.
There is a nationwide children’s ministry, which supports all of the different weekly Sunday Schools in addition to their hosting of an annual conference. They also provide periodic Sunday School teacher training.
We are currently doing ministry in two districts in the Yangon Region and three districts in the Bago Region. Our missionaries (church planters) are: Mr. Myoe Khine, Mr. Zaw Zaw, Mr. Tin Tan, Rev. Tin Muang Latt, Mr. Ngi Ngi and Rev. Van Lal Para. They all work as church planters in this area. All the people who are living in this area are Burmese and Karen. God answers our prayers and continues to bless the ministry of our missionaries. 13 people were saved and baptized in 2016. Praise the Lord!
