Emerging leaders lead many to Christ

August 2, 2011

After three years of praying and planning, last month the first APAC Emerging Leaders event was held in Bangkok, Thailand. It was a very rewarding event and life changing for all participants. 28 delegates came from eight countries . Sadly, two delegates from Myanmar were not allowed to board their plane because they couldn’t pay a high fee that was required at the airport. 282 persons prayed to receive Christ.

During the first days participants were taught on how to do dialogue evangelism after sharing their personal testimony. After the course, the delegates were divided into 8 teams for a short term mission trip. Two teams went to Cambodia, six stayed in Thailand. After their ministry-trip the delegates were rejoicing because God rewarded the hard work. He gave  an abundant harvest in both countries. All together 282 adults prayed to receive Christ as their personal Lord and Savior! On the commitment night 13 individuals responded to the call of Missions and on the last day the ‘Asia Pacific Alliance Churches Youth’ in the APAC region was formally organized. The elected president is David Paksoal from Indonesia. Pray that this new initiative will become a strategic ministry, mobilizing the youth of the APAC region towards a collaborative effort in reaching the least-reached for the glory of God.
