India: Alliance Convention

The state of Gujarat in North-Western India has a population of more than 50 million and the province has a bad name when it comes to religious tolerance. But good things happen as well! Recently a Convention was held with Dr. Jun Vencer from the Philippines as main speaker.
For an audience of 1400 persons Dr. Vencer spoke on the subject: 'You are the Temple of God'. Conference moderator Rev. Crispus Christian notes that “he spoke very effectively and very relevant to the context and situation of our churches”.
The same month a Youth Camp was held in Ahmedabad. Sessions on the 'Life of dr. A. B. Simpson and A Brief history of the C&MA' were part of the program. Sixty young people attended. Statistics show that Christians form a small and weak minority (Hindu 89.5%; Muslim 8.7%; Christian 0.5%). Let’s thank God for these events and praise Him, for He is able to manifest His power through weak vessels!
